What Are You Measuring?

Posted by Bill Crose on September 13, 2019 at 11:33am 1 Comment

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Questions to consider, and share your thinking please:

1.  What does governance look like within your Learning or Talent function?

2.  How are you engaging senior executives?

3.  What do your senior executives know about what we do for a living and how we align what we do to the strategy of the organization?

All my best,  Mike Woodard

Thank you for these important questions. Here are some others:

  • What assumptions are designed into your governance process?
  • How do you validate the assumptions?
  • What is different about governance now compared to 5 years ago?
  • What differences about governance do you anticipate (or want) in the future?
