Our theme for 2017 is "Accountable Learning" – What can we learn from how the Healthcare Industry has responded to the mandate for Accountable Care - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accountable_care_organization

As we did in 2016 we will apply and refine the BYOL Plus (please see the definition below) approach throughout the conference.

There will be several “firsts” for Georgia LEARNS 2017: For the first time we will:

  1. Include a second parallel track (focused on employee training in Hospitals)
  2. Intentionally include a significant representation from Europe (thank you Alfred Remmits)
  3. Host a portion of our event at a corporate headquarters (thank you Home Depot)
  4. Offer a pre-event social time for all participants on the evening prior to the event

And there will be several areas that we will expand upon:

  1. The number of Executives from companies outside of Georgia that are invited and attend
  2. Collaboration with other Professional Associations
  3. The Crowd-Design Process applied to “Impossible to Solve” and yet “Worthy of Achievable Outcomes” mindset that dominated our 2016 Conference https://georgialearnsnow.ning.com/page/georgia-learns-2016
  4. Participation by private investment groups

BYOL Plus Definition: BYOL – The Bring Your Own Learning panel format was introduced by Georgia LEARNS in 2015. Panelists have two to four minutes to present questions related to what they want to learn from the audience as well as present what they believe the audience can learn from the panelist's experience. Each panel is followed by 20-30 minute breakout discussion sessions. We conclude with the “Plus” a 5 to 10 minute closing presentation by a remarkable speaker who will describe what they learned from the panelists and breakouts.
