What Are You Measuring?

Posted by Bill Crose on September 13, 2019 at 11:33am 1 Comment

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

I look forward to this conversation - each topic could be a session on its own.

Why? What outcome would we desire? Is an outcome necessary? Let's learn from what others think?

Might there be a DoAbout lurking in this list?

I look forward to our Work From Anywhere (WFA) discussion/debate :-)

Many companies are ordering their people to return to the office full time and 'blaming' reduced productivity and employee disengagement. Some experts claim that this is a myth, that WFA does not necessarily reduce productivity or engagement.  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

According to Gallup, 52% of companies are offering some type of hybrid work schedules to allow people to WFA. Some are mandating what days they are required to be in the office. Some companies are allowing more choice about which days to be in the office.  Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

There probably isn't a one-size-fits-all solution. What is the real issue? Have senior leaders thought holistically about this?

What are your thoughts and opinions about the questions posed for us? I hope we can have a lively, respectful debate/discussion about the topic. See you then!

Michelle

Must there be one solution for everyone?

Who decides?

Who is willing to be accountable for the decision? To whom?

Great questions Paul!

Michelle - this was a terrific conversation - because the topic was interesting and because you facilitated it so well - thank you.

I like the conclusion you proposed - because it surprised me  - and because I hope it actually occurs for the reasons you stated!

Thank you  - "job" well done!

Thanks Paul and everyone who participated!
