A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Some thoughts for our discussion on Thursday...
Most organizations or companies have some sort of learning or training program for their associates. Whether it is a handbook, learning/training sessions, or a fully automated LMS (Learning Management Software) program, the goal is to make sure that their associates understand the organization, brand, products and/or services, as well as general procedures.
What most organizations don’t realize is that you can enhance the program for your associates by rewarding them with recognition and incentives for participating, completing and retaining the training modules information.
Some questions for our session.....
Does your organization use recognition and rewards for your learning/training programs?
What types of awards are utilized (gift cards, merchandise, recognition, hours/days off, etc.)?
Do you track the effectiveness of your programs?
How do you prioritize learning and how it fits in with your organizational goals?
Look forward to our discussion on Thursday. Best, Michael
