What Are You Measuring?

Posted by Bill Crose on September 13, 2019 at 11:33am 1 Comment

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Since early 2024 the Georgia LEARNS Community has been connected to universities, professors, and students around the world via Riipen.

The Universities include:

  1. Brenau Anna Deeb
  2. Humber (Canada) Mary Lee
  3. University of East London Buddha Poornima Chinna Murugan
  4. Capella Marni Tovsen

The students and professors that were part of these matches are invited to join in this annual reunion.

This session will also serve as an orientation for those who would like to learn more about how to connect with universities, professors, and students in workplace related activities.

Please join this open session at any time between 8:00 and 11:00 AM Eastern USA on Tuesday, October 28.

  • The first 15 minutes of each hour will be open networking time
  • The next 15 minutes will be an orientation to Riipen and why I believe its work is important to the Georgia LEARNS Community
  • This will be followed by open conversation to allow for sharing ideas to create even more value for the students, universities, and organizations that collaborate via Riipen
  • Repeat at the beginning of the next hour

At the invite of Dr. Shatrela Washington-Hubbard I had the opportunity to meet today on the Brenau campus with faculty and administrative leaders of Brenau, as well as students, representatives from Riipen and another project partner.

As a result, I will be inviting Dr. Washington and the following people to drop in on this session.

I met this morning with a new group of 6 students from the University of East London. They are all from India and are pursuing a Master's in International Business (so they already have their initial degree and most have some work experience.)

Each will be connected to at least one of the 6 projects that are being accelerated with our conference this year.

I will be meeting with them weekly on Tuesdays beginning at 8AM during this event and concluding in April of 2026.

I've been on since 8:00.  I hope everything is okay with you.

All is good -  we met with the UEL students at 8 and after they left another person attended. The room is empty now - I resent the link via email. I do not know why we were unable to see you.
