When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Thursday, October 30, 11:00 - 12:15              The Real Need                           Plus-BYOL-Plus

Who are we helping with leadership development books, programs, and workshops? What do they need from us? What do you wish we would stop doing  that "every" leadership initiative does? What do you wish we would reduce? What do you wish were done better than ever? What would you like to be see done that has "never" been done?

Friday, October 31, 4:00 - 4:45                 Business Model                          Plus-BYOL-Plus

Who do your recommend pay the costs of leadership development? What does the payer value? What relationship will we establish with payer? Who already has a relationship with the payer? What revenue streams will we create to assure success for us and the payer? What activities will we offer? What resources do we need? Who will we partner with? What expenses will we incur?

What new questions will we ask about old leadership problems? What new answer will we seek to old leadership questions? What comes first - the leadership data we need or the leadership decisions we make? What leadership data needs to be created? Who would have access to this data? How do we assure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the data we use or create?

Friday, November 7, 10:00 - 10:55                  Simplification                               Plus-BYOL-Plus

The rules of simplification:

  1. Understand what leaders really do - not what they say they do, or you think they do...and why
  2. Reinforce integrators - people with the position and interest to make others cooperate
  3. Increase power for others so that they use their judgment and take risk
  4. Shadow of the Future - feedback loops that reveal to leaders the consequences of their actions
  5. Increase Reciprocity - remove barriers that create dysfunctional self-sufficiency in leaders
  6. Reward Cooperation - failure is not helping or not asking for help...identify real self weaknesses
