What Are You Measuring?

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

The format and outcome of a CuriousAbout is designed to allow for the discovery and application of curiosity to accelerate successful business outcomes.

The E5T5 (Each Five Teach Five) Concept was adapted from the Each One Teach One concept by the Georgia LEARNS Community as a response to COVID's impact to in person learning beginning in March of 2020. In March of 2020 - 48 executives began an experiment of meeting in small groups of 5. Paul was a member of each group - so 12 groups of 5 were formed - and met once per month via Zoom with a different member of each group leading the session on a topic that they wished to learn about - learner-led learning.

The experiment continues, the small group formats have evolved, there are 10 variations (e.g., TeachAbout, ReachOutAbout, Curious About) and others are adapting it to their purposes and generating revenue. The promise to the original 48 and 12 others that formed three new groups in October of 2020 was that they would be considered "Charter Members" and that I would work with them for free to adapt E5T5 so that they could make revenue.

None have done so, despite the success of non-Charter Members. I have had many conversations, developed a formal presentation, and witnessed transformations. I am open to help with all three areas of advice as I try to create value for the Charter Members.
