What Are You Measuring?

Posted by Bill Crose on September 13, 2019 at 11:33am 1 Comment

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Leading by advocating with authenticity for a position that is not your preference - "being with and against" each other.

Session Leader: Paul Terlemezian

The format of this session will be:

  1. Five minutes of welcome and introductions
  2. Segment A - Ten minutes of listening to the interests and perceptions of those who wish to learn about pluralism with the presenter off-camera and muted.
  3. Segment B - Ten minutes of formal presentation regarding the Georgia LEARNS Pluralism Format (please review the attached document)
  4. Segment C - Ten minutes of listening to the reactions to the formal presentation while the presenter is off-camera and muted.
  5. Segment D - Ten minutes of open conversation including the presenter

In this 17 minute video, Linda Hill motivates the concepts of:

  • Creative Abrasion
  • Creative Agility
  • Creative Resolution

My ambition is for "pluralism" to enable leadership that embraces these concepts.

What skills do participants need in order to create an effective pluralism experience?

What boundaries or attitudes or behaviors need to be in place for it to succeed?

After you experience the Pluralism TeachAbout, join the conversation on multiplying mission with 10x Leader - or at least give us some pluralistic POVs!  TeachAbout - 10x Leader

Great questions Steph. I don't know the answers yet. I think the skills will emerge and be honed as we are willing to "open" up our Minds, practice using the tools (by experiencing a pluralism event), and then self-reflecting the effectiveness of our skills (perhaps by applying something that was hidden within us.)
