A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Thursday, December 12, 2024 - 11:00 AM Eastern USA

A group of students being taught by Professor Anna Deeb at Brenau University have been engaged in a Communications class that is emphasizing public speaking.

This semester the students have been applying their newly acquired skills to research and prepare speeches related to five topics of interest to the Georgia LEARNS Community.

They will be delivering their speeches live via Zoom on Wednesday, December 4th from 11am to 2pm Eastern USA Time. Specific project owners within the Georgia LEARNS Community have been invited to observe the Final Exam - A Persuasive Speech.

  1. Gen Z Leadership – Theo Gilbert-Jamison
  2. Collaborative Conflict – Glenn Meier
  3. Happen to Life CoWork – Yvette Francis
  4. Rewarding Students for their Grades – Regnault Drake Sanders
  5. AI, Avatars, and Learning – Read Blumberg

With approval by the students, a few of these speeches will be reviewed as part of session that is open to any interested Georgia LEARNS participants on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
