A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

"Funerals" - I wonder what is said about funerals in Heaven?

"It's Jake and he's dead." -  What will someone say about you when it is your time? What would you say to them if you could? is it something you could say now?

"No, I didn't attend Jake's funeral." - My guess is that Jake would have been OK with that - he knew that Bruce had been with him when Jake needed him. Better to feel remorse for missing a funeral than for missing the opportunity to live with the person while they were alive.
