A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

The Buckhead Business Association kindly extended an opportunity for Georgia LEARNS to be the topic for discussion at their meeting on Thursday, August 2nd.
Here is a link to the PPT presentation: Georgia%20LEARNS%28SM%29%20Buckhead%20Business%20Association%20Augu...
This is the list of questions that came from the tables at the beginning of the presentation:
1. What inspires me? I am inspired by my faith, my family, humanity and nature (especially pets!)
2. How can we help you with Georgia LEARNS?
3. How can we be sure to make learning stick?
4. What was the pivotal point in my career?
Losing my job three June's in a row (2001, 2002 and 2003) was the turning point . The pivot was the birth of my daughter (1982) and the realization that what I did with my career would have more impact to her regarding her life than anything I could tell or try to teach/preach to her. We live the legacy that our children will inherit. It is up to us to make it be a legacy that inspires!
5. What is my personal work out plan?
Each Saturday at 8AM I walk 7-8 miles with a terrific friend and his dog. My home office is on the second floor of my home so I do 20-30 flights of stairs every day. Each weekend also includes about 2 hours or so of "yrd work." And - I am willing to shovel snow during any Atlanta blizzards unless I decide not to!
6. What is the process we use?
Slides 6, 8, 9 & 10 show the process. Also - the process is just like doing a puzzle with three key differences (No picture, no edges, no pieces)
Please ask more questions!
Be sure to consider being part of Georgia LEARNS!
Copy what you learn from us - please just tell others that the inspiration came from Georgia LEARNS!
