A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

"in the city" - Rhonda's words and Bruce's response are unimaginable and without either - what might have been?

"All right, ready for the next thousand miles" - at with enough experience to know the this was not going to be a trip down easy street. What motivates someone to do this? Nothing yet - seems - conventional, easy or self-serving....

"Streetlight Cafe" - perhaps this is a hint. We eat often and never expect to stop doing so. Perhaps eating together with those we are different from - not just once - but consistently is a start. And not just in the same room or at the same time - next to each other - with each other - for real. In time - working and living with each other may emerge...

"I wish I could share that every one of those stories ended in lifelong friendships and incredible success" - does trust and being ready - every time - have value - even if friendship and success does not emerge during the lifetime of those we share with?

"Valerie" and the "Arrest Warrant" - a story to remember the next time I am having a "bad day."
