A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. 3. How can we be sure to make learning stick?
- Make sure the training is sustained by your "culture"
- Apply the ALO if you are not sure of how to do the above
- Listen more than you talk. The learners will be more committed to what they told others they were going to do than to what you told them to do!
4. What was the pivotal point in my career?
Losing my job three June's in a row (2001, 2002 and 2003) was the turning point . The pivot was the birth of my daughter (1982) and the realization that what I did with my career would have more impact to her regarding her life than anything I could tell or try to teach/preach to her. We live the legacy that our children will inherit. It is up to us to make it be a legacy that inspires!
5. What is my personal work out plan?
Each Saturday at 8AM I walk 7-8 miles with a terrific friend and his dog. My home office is on the second floor of my home so I do 20-30 flights of stairs every day. Each weekend also includes about 2 hours or so of "yrd work." And - I am willing to shovel snow during any Atlanta blizzards unless I decide not to!
6. What is the process we use?
Slides 6, 8, 9 & 10 show the process. Also - the process is just like doing a puzzle with three key differences (No picture, no edges, no pieces)
