A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

Q1 What are leaders experiencing now that leaders have never or rarely experienced before?
The wave of information and tools leaders have to sort through.
Q2 Who is capable of preparing leaders for what has never been experienced before?
I think a combination of AI and open minded thought leaders.
Q3 How do we know if our leadership development investments are working?
Measure the impact of these efforts on business results (i.e. Workforce Productivity)
Q4 Who needs to be accountable for the success of these investments?
Senior Leaders and L&D
Q5 What industry or discipline is known for great leadership?
I have been in four different industries and I can confidently say no industry has the advantage of creating great leaders.
Q6 What are you willing to do to assure that you are a great leader?
Continue to be a student, practitioner and educator of leadership.
