What Are You Measuring?

Posted by Bill Crose on September 13, 2019 at 11:33am 1 Comment

A lifetime ago, my training department colleagues and I were satisfied with training data. We cranked out the requested ILT programs plus the "flavor of the year" content, we kept a busy training schedule, and made sure the coffee was always the right temperature. When accused of not delivering effective training because the learners didn't perform as they were trained, we took refuge in our management support role and not ultimately responsible or accountable for LEARNING or productivity.…

GLN 2025 - Debate for Discovery: Finding Better Answers Together - TeachAbout

Session Leader: Sherry Heyl

Debate for Discovery: Finding Better Answers Together

A Not So Simple Politics x Amplified Concepts Workshop

In a world where every conversation feels like a competition, what if debate became a tool for discovery instead of division?

Debate for Discovery is a conversation that seeks to redefine how we discuss big ideas—whether in politics, business, or community leadership. Through guided dialogue and the PATH™ framework, we'll explore how to move beyond winning arguments to building understanding.

This interactive session blends insights from Amplified Concepts’ change-management practice with the mission of Not So Simple Politics: to equip modern leaders with the tools to think critically, communicate clearly, and collaborate courageously in a time of rapid change.

Together, we’ll explore how to:

  • Use debate as a catalyst for creativity and common ground.
  • Apply AI-ready communication strategies to navigate complex issues.
  • Lead conversations that uncover better answers—together.

Join us for a discussion that challenges certainty, rewards curiosity, and reminds us that progress begins not with louder voices, but with open minds.

The format of this session will be:

  1. Five minutes of welcome and introductions
  2. Segment A - Ten minutes of listening to the interests and perceptions of those who wish to learn about Debate for Discovery with Sherry off-camera and muted.
  3. Segment B - Ten minutes of formal presentation by Sherry regarding Debate for Discovery.
  4. Segment C - Ten minutes of listening to the reactions to the formal presentation while Sherry is off-camera and muted.
  5. Segment D - Ten minutes of open conversation including Sherry.
